The Inside Edge

Where I take you behind-the-scenes of this week’s @SkatingPj Podcast.

The always put together Alexandra Paul graciously agreed to recording this podcast during a limo ride from the Vancouver airport to our hotel in Vancouver. This return to the Canadian National Figure Skating Championships, especially during the Olympic year must have brought back memories for Alex. It was only four years ago that she and partner Mitch Islam battled for their spot on the Sochi 2014 Olympic team.

Fast forward to 2018, and I get the chance to find out why and how the team decided to retire and how things are going in law school. Law school? That’s right, life moves on and Alex is on a new path.

Skating fan or not, this is an interesting and insightful podcast about the life of a skater before, during and after competition. If you want to know more, follow Alex on Twitter @alexandrapaul_.

Where I highlight a video related to this podcast.

In this case, the event that put the team of Paul and Islam on the map was the World Junior Championships in 2010, where Alex and Mitch took the silver medal. This is their Original Dance from that event. Click on the image below to watch the video.
