The Inside Edge
Where I take you behind-the-scenes of this week’s @SkatingPj Podcast.
It took some doing but I was finally able to wrangle this guy into an interview with me. The fact that it was over 20 years in the making is beside the point.
Steve Milton is a legend in the sports writing world. He is a prolific author whose journalistic long-time home has been the Hamilton Spectator. Steve has a soft spot for figure skating and treats the sport and the athletes with the kind of respect they deserve. I like him a lot especially when you can get him telling stories. This podcast is filled with lots of great stories from Steve’s start as a journalist to stories and opinions on some of the greats like Brian Orser and Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir.
You won’t want to miss this one! It was recorded in the basement of the rink during the Canadian National Figure Skating Championships which accounts for some of the ambient noise.

The Outside Edge
Where I highlight a video related to this podcast.
Steve Milton has always been a big supporter of figure skating in Canada. One of my favourite Steve Milton books is ‘Tessa And Scott: Our Journey From Childhood Dream To Gold’ that he co-authored with the dancers themselves. In honour of this great relationship, here is look back at their free dance on their way to their first Olympic title in 2010 in Vancouver.
