The Inside Edge

Where I take you behind-the-scenes of this week’s @SkatingPj Podcast.

What can I say? Wrangling some episodes can take longer than others. I have always had skating photographer Danielle Earl in my sights for a podcast episode. It took until the 2017 Skate Canada International to find the time to sit down.

Being a professional figure skating photographer is a career that requires a lot of dedication not to mention an outstanding eye for detail. It doesn’t hurt when you know the sport and understand how to tell a story through pictures. If you want to find out what makes Danielle tick or hear about what started it all then this is the podcast for you.

If you want to follow Danielle on social media – check her out on Twitter @danielleephoto and on her website

Where I highlight a video related to this podcast.

In this case, photographer Danielle Earl shared that she got her start by responding to her friend’s mom’s request to take some pictures of a pair tryout that her friend was going to be doing. Danielle was about 14 years old at the time and the friend in question turned out to be Katherine Bobak although the tryout was not with Ian Beharry, Danielle located and shared this video with me.
