At the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Pj thought that there might be some interesting people to talk to for the Open Kwong Dore podcast; and she was right.
Chris Hindmarch-Watson is the Executive Director of the Canadian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association. He has had a long career in the pool in lots of different capacities from athlete to managing clubs and programs to managing events for Swimming Canada.
He was also the English language PA announcer at the Olympic pool where all those records were being set and medals won by athletes like Michael Phelps and Penny Oleksiak. Thrilling.
In this candid conversation, Pj and Chris talk about life in and out of the pool; what makes a good athlete or coach and some of the best moments to ever happen in swimming.
