The Inside Edge is where I take you behind-the-scenes of this week’s @SkatingPj Podcast. Sometimes you get lucky. As I was standing in line at the front desk in my hotel in Boston, I noticed a diminutive and dainty blond woman in the next line over. It was Galit Chait-Moracci, former ice dancer who earned a World bronze medal with partner Sergei Sakhnovski in 2002. Always on the lookout for another podcast guest, I took my card over, introduced myself and asked her to consider being on an episode with me. She must have thought I was a little nutty but nevertheless wrote me an email later that day saying yes. I was delighted.

I have spent a lot of time watching Galit skate over the years and was very aware of her strong work ethic. What I couldn’t anticipate was her candor and her gentle spirit in conversation. I really enjoyed this conversation and I think you will too. Galit talks not only about her skating career but what came next, including her life as a coach and as a Mom.

Intelligent, thoughtful, creative and expressive is how I would describe Galit. I feel like I made a new friend 🙂

The Outside Edge is where I highlight videos from across the skating world and bring you a little bonus from somewhere on YouTube or beyond. In today’s instalment, I thought it would be fun to look back at the 2002 Free Dance from Worlds which led to a bronze medal for Galit and partner Sergei Sakhnovsky.
